Mass Effect 2

… Only joking – but mass effect 2 should go gold within the next few months because its current release date is the 31st of october, which means a few months in production. Check back here for up to date news and a real post when mass effect 2 does go gold! (you should have subscribed to the mass effect 2 rss feed already btw (rss button top right) – that will keep you up to date and it will mean you get told as soon as mass effect 2 goes’ gold.

Bioware the awesomeness game producer will probably announce it within a month I would say….anyone want to take a wild guess as to mass effect 2 gone gold dates? I am going for May 31st for some reason….Guess the go gold date correctly and you might just get a prize…

Mass effect 2 should be released on october 31st 2009, a release date we are all looking forward too – I think we have posted this before but I keep getting a lot of queries on when the mass effect 2 release date is so there you go! – It may change as these things often do, and we will do our best to keep you updated – if you go to preorder the game (top right) from amazon, they usually have a correct release date at any given time, so even if you don’t pre order mass effect 2 from there (where you should.>!) then you can see the mass effect 2 release date which is accurate at any point!

In a MTV Multiplayer interview Greg Zeshuk and Ray Muzyka have given hints away that Mass effect 2 may be multiplayer!  Bioware have not formally confirmed this in anyway but it does lead opening questions as to how the rpg Mass Effect 2 will be made to be useable as a multiplayer game – what gameplay will be multiplayer and how will it affect the game? Will it have the current fad gaming of co-op or will the multiplayer be more deathmatch style? As of yet nothing confirmed but you can read the interview with the mass effect 2 creators on multiplayer.mtv.com.

Pushed for a more conclusive answer the bioware bosses said the “full feature set for Mass Effect 2 hadn’t yet been fully disclosed” – this means it should be out soon to us – and we very much hope to hear/read the words co-op and or other types of multiplayer gameplay hitting mass effect 2. Muzkya does say “But multiplayer is something that, at a broad level, BioWare is interested in exploring in our games in the future. The good news is that we have a great multiplayer game that’s co-op in “The Old Republic,” our “Star Wars” game. I hear that’s going to be pretty big. [smiles]” which is perhaps just a nice diffusion to their other games or a hint on mass effect 2 multiplayer scenarios (Check out The Old Republic at oldrep.co.uk)

We cant wait to read more and we cant wait for mass effect 2 even more!

There was news today that Mass Effect 2 will be the first complete multi platform game to get released on the PS3 and on pc/xbox, but will mass effect 2 make it onto the playstation 3?

Despite multiple sources we dont think mass effect 2 will make it onto your home ps3 – the thing that makes it so easy to port games like masseffect 1 and mass effect two to xbox from pc is the fact they are running the same architecture – the xbox is effectively bill gates flogging another mobo in a different case, adapted for the home user. The Sony PS3 is built on some crazy architecture and so takes a whole different programmer to build for it. Its not impossible though and no doubt some studio will pull it off soon – but will it be bioware? Another indicator that its unlikely is the fact you can preorder pc and xbox versions of the game already, alas there is no ps3 version available.

So although doubtful that mass effect-2 will make it to the ps3 it wouldnt be the weirdest thing to happen  in the computer games industry – so watch this space – as soon as we have any news about a playstation release we will post it here.

I heard a rumour that someone at Bioware had let out some plot detail ’s on Mass Effect 2, when in fact the amazon product review is the source of all the masseffect 2 rumours – you can check out the page here:  amazon link

The product review is by no  means a huge game spoiler but it does release overall mass effect 2 game objectives and who the lead charector is – not full plot details but still a step towards knowing what we are going to get with the new game. The trailer we featured in our first post made it look like Shepard had been killed off before mass effect 2 – but it seems according to amazon that you can play as shepard in mass effect 2, it even says you can further customise his appearence! There are additions of improvements of combat systems and a much refined dialogue system.

Amazons description says mass effect 2’s main objective is to investigate a disappearance of people across the whole galaxy – no doubt a huge mission that will take players – and this is quoted “into the heart of enemy territory”.

We cant wait for Mass effect 2 on the pc and on the xbox360 – we are gonna buy them both – might even compare them screen to screen – but will it make it to ps3?
